How to Apply for an HSBC Credit Card
Though its headquarters are in London, HSBC provides credit card services for consumers of financial products throughout the world. You can apply for a credit card by logging on to the company's website.

Prepare for the Application Process

Gather your income information. You must provide HSBC with your household's annual gross income. This total can generally be found on your W-2 form or line 21 of your IRS form 1040.

Don't include income you've gained from alimony payments or child support if you don't want HSBC to consider these funds as a basis for repaying your credit obligation to the bank.

Review the credit cards HSBC currently offers. Apply for an HSBC card that gives you points or cash back on purchases made with the card.

Start your application process by logging onto the HSBC homepage (see Resources below).

Click on the "Cards" tab on the HSBC homepage to find applications for HSBC's line of personal credit cards.

Select the HSBC card you wish to apply for and click on the "Apply Now" link.

Select the "Click to Begin" link for the credit card you wish to apply for on the pop-up menu.

Complete the application form with your personal information. You must provide both your annual salary and your household's gross annual income.

Hit the "Continue Application" button to complete your application. You will be given additional options for HSBC cards to apply for once you hit this button.

Check on the status of your HSBC credit card application by selecting the "Check Application Status" link from the "Cards" homepage. You must provide your social security number and zip code before hitting the "Submit" button to view your application details.
