From Quick Guide: iPhone Guide
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use your iTunes library to create playlists before you connect your iPhone. Any playlists you create on iTunes will automatically transfer to the phone and vice versa. You can create lists with different names to help you choose music from your iPhone.

  2. Step 2

Begin your iPhone playlist by pressing the "iPod" key on the main page of your phone. This is an orange key with a silhouette of an iPod, and it takes you to your music library. You can press "Playlists" from the "iPod" menu to organize music on the move.

  3. Step 3

Touch the "On-the-Go" feature on your iPhone to create a quick playlist while you are away from your computer. Browse through your entire music library and drag music into the list field without connecting to your laptop or desktop.

  4. Step 4

Complete your iPhone playlist by pressing the "Done" button at the bottom of the screen. Each playlist is automatically named in the phone and appears in a special field in the "iPod" menu to get you to your music quickly.

  5. Step 5

Activate the "Shuffle" feature on your playlist to randomly play songs. You must distinguish between an individual shuffle on your playlist and randomly shuffling every song on your iPhone to avoid confusion.

  6. Step 6

Eliminate songs from your iPhone playlist. You can press the red "Delete" button next to the song title to clear a song from your playlist.

  7. Step 7

Rate albums and individual songs on your playlists with a finger tap. There is a star-based rating system that can be modified by swiping your finger until you reach the desired number of stars.

Tips & Warnings
  • Arrange individual playlists on your iPhone to change pace or hear songs at the end of your list. You can click next to the file name on the symbol that features 3 parallel lines. Use your fingertip to drag the title up or down on your playlist to find the right musical combination.
