How to Understand NLP

Are you curious about NLP but haven't a clue what its about? Well what is it really? The full name of NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming and its in its name, the clue to its identity lies.

1. 'Neuro' means our neurology, our nervous system. That part of us that is the body and the mind. It is our mind/body connection.
2. 'Linguistic' means language and language is how we understand our world. And indeed, we make up and describe our reality through language. Try thinking without language. Describe your last birthday without language.Can you?
3. Programming means those programs of our mind, that run our reality. They are our filters that we see our reality through and they govern our behaviour. Essentially, our mind is a meaning making machine run on programs. Sounds a bit like the Matrix doesnt it?
