How to Dress up as a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich for Halloween

This costume is a great way to go if you are dressing up as a couple. One person can be the peanut butter half and the other person can be the jelly. When people ask what you are, come together and see if they can guess!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

• 4 pieces of sturdy white poster board
• 4-8 pieces of elastic
• Duct tape
• Scissors
• Light brown or tan paint
• Purple Paint
• Pencil
• Hole punch

1. Take two pieces of poster board. On each piece of poster board draw an outline of a piece of bread. Don't forget to outline an outer crust!
   Cut out the pieces of bread from the two pieces of poster board.
2. Next take your hole punch and punch one hole on the top upper left hand side of both pieces of poster board, this should be on the top portion of your crust on the left side. Take the hole punch and punch one hole on the top upper right hand side of both pieces of poster board, this should be the top portion of your crust on the right side. For each piece of "bread" you should have a total of two holes one on the left and one on the right. Take your light brown or tan paint and proceed to paint the crust on both pieces of bread. Set aside and let dry.
3. Now take one of the remaining two pieces of poster board and draw an outline of a glob of jelly. The jelly should be big enough to stick out past the sides of the bread piece. Cut the outline out and punch a hole in the top upper left hand side and punch a hole in the top upper right hand side. Paint with purple paint and set aside to dry. Take the last piece of poster board and draw an outline of a glob of peanut butter. The peanut butter should be big enough to stick out past the sides of the bread piece.Cut out the outline and punch a hole in the top upper left hand side and punch a hole in the top upper right hand side. Paint with light brown or tan paint and set aside to dry.
4. Once the pieces are dried, take two pieces of elastic and insert one through each of the holes of the bread piece and tie a knot on the backside of the bread, so it is not visible. Take your piece of duct tape and tape over top of the elastic to secure it to the bread. The other end needs to be attached to the peanut butter, so make sure you leave enough room to put your head in between the bread and the peanut butter. Secure with duct tape as well. Repeat with the second piece of bread and the jelly piece.
5. Finally make sure that if you are the peanut butter part of the couple that you wear clothing colors that are tan or light brown to go with the peanut butter theme. If you are the Jelly part of the couple make sure you wear clothing in the colors of purple to go with the jelly theme.
