Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- raspberry jam
- sauce pan (pot)
- spoon
- strainer with fine mesh
- medium sized bowl
Step1
Pour the jam into your sauce pan.
Step2
Set the pot on low-medium heat.
Step3
Cover with a lid and let the jam heat up.
Step4
While jam is heating up, wash the jar thoroughly with hot water. Set aside to air dry, or dry it by hand.
Step5
When jam is heated to the point that it forms foamy bubbles on top and is quite thin, remove from heat. Do not allow it to actually boil!
Step6
Pour heated jam through a strainer into the bowl. You will likely need to use a spoon to help the jelly get through, as the seeds will start to block it.
Step7
Pour the liquid from the bowl into the clean jam jar. It will be only about 2/3 full now - that's how many seeds you've removed!
Allow the jelly to cool before you put it in the refrigerator, OR process with your favourite canning method to seal it for storage.
Step8
Now what can you do with the jelly?
* enjoy it on toast
* use it for recipes such as homemade jello, or jelly donuts
* pour it into pretty jars, seal using canning process, and package it to give as gifts!

on 2/7/2008 One of my nieces LOVES raspberry jam, but hates the seeds. I am going to try this when I can harvest my raspberries this summer. What a GREAT idea!
Thanks!
