some dogs are very hyper and energetic. When you need a break, just do this!!!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • dog
Step1
Have your dog sit or lay in a comfortable spot(couch, pet bed, chair, etc.).
Step2
take your hand, and put your finger right by his/her eye.
Step3
Move your finger in a circular motion in the corner of the dogs eye. Proceed doing this for about 3-5 minutes, and your dog should be sleeping. If this is uncomfortable for your dog, try doing the same thing right behind the dog's ear.

Tips & Warnings

  • Works better when the room is silent.
  • If this doesn't work, try to pretend falling asleep with your dog and it should but him straight to sleep also.
  • works better with smaller dogs
  • try rubbing behind the ear for bigger dogs
  • Don't go to close to the dog's eye.
  • May take longer then the estimated time , depending on dog.

on 9/3/2008 I like to hypnotize my dog by saying very slowly in an underdog cartoon voice "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep", "go to sleep",

His eyes get real heavy then bam he's out cold.

on 11/27/2007 I find that letting my dogs into the house tends to make them fall asleep. Sometimes they don't even make it as far as their bed

on 9/15/2007 The best way to make my dog fall asleep is by going to bed and falling asleep myself! It's a sure thing.
Of course your dog will fall asleep when the house is silent, kind of a no brainer!

on 8/27/2007 Bravo Frabark!!! Totally agree. This site gives you the opportunity to publish stuff that can be read by a huge audience and people still choose to put up rubbish.

on 8/24/2007 How does one trust instructions to be accurate when the writer is not accurate in English language usage? For example, "Have you dog," "comfotable," "pet bead," and "ect" are all in the first step. Edit, people! Even a simple spell check feature finds two of these errors.
