  1. Step 1

Enjoy southern culture by attending the Dixie National Rodeo. Watch some authentic cowboys, see livestock, enjoy live entertainment and much more.

  2. Step 2

Plan your trip to Mississippi for the first weeks of October and take part in one of the largest state fairs in the South. The state fair in Jackson has livestock, crafts, food and free music concerts.

  3. Step 3

Go on an excursion to Ship Island from Gulfport. There is an island pier and boardwalk. Play at the beautiful beaches or tour Fort Massachusetts. The island is just a short ferry ride away.

  4. Step 4

Experience hands-on activities at one of the nation's top 50 children's museums at Gulfport. The Lynn Meadows Discovery Museum offers a chance for children to go to the treehouse village, touch a tornado, visit the wetlands or be involved in producing a newscast. There is much more for children to do and learn at this unique children's museum.

  5. Step 5

Have an unforgettable and fun time with the family at Skate Park in Oxford. Skate to great music and an amazing light show. There is also an arcade and good food to snack on.

  6. Step 6

See rare species of exotic animals at the Hattiesburg Zoo at Kemper Park. Especially suitable for smaller children, this small zoo also has a wonderful playground. It is not as crowded as many zoos across the nation and easier for little legs to walk.
