You don't have to spend a lot of money to offer a water refuge to birds in your backyard. You can use items from around the house to create a refreshing bath for birdies. Use a Frisbee to make a birdbath that doesn't take much time or effort but gives those backyard birds a place to bathe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice pick or something to punch a hole
  • Frisbee
  • 6 feet of wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Measuring tool
  1. Step 1

Find a Frisbee. If you don't already have one, ask your neighbors if they have a spare, or buy one at almost any larger discount or department store.

  2. Step 2

Punch three holes in the rim. Make the holes equal distance from one another using an ice pick or another sharp tool. It will be easiest if you punch them from the inside, under the lip.

  3. Step 3

Clip 3 wires, each about 2 feet long. Insert one wire in one of the holes you punched by inserting the wire from the outside and bringing it back to secure the wire to itself on the other side of the rim.

  4. Step 4

Attach the other 2 wires in the same way.

  5. Step 5

Lift all 3 wires above the Frisbee and form a triangle. Twist the wires together starting about 6 inches from the Frisbee and continuing all the way to the top of the wire. You should now have a Frisbee with wires attached forming a triangle in the air above, and then 6 inches of the 3 wires twisted together.

  6. Step 6

Bend the twisted wire part to form a hook.

  7. Step 7

Fill with water and hang from a tree or post.
