Dark Tower was a short-lived Milton Bradley fantasy game in the 1980s. Featuring an electronic tower in the center of the board, players represented one of four kingdoms in their quest to unlock the Dark Tower and defeat the brigands inside. It is highly prized by collectors and can be mastered if you know a few tips.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Map the forest as much as possible because items frequently appear in the same places. This is particularly true of the online version of the game. Even though chests may appear in the same location, their contents may differ.

  2. Step 2

Avoid the Zone of Death until your company includes a Healer (Healers are purchased from Magicians). Plagues are common in this area, so beware.

  3. Step 3

Move around as much as possible. A player cannot find any of the necessary keys in his home territory, so traveling through the other players' lands is a must. A player need not return to his own territory until he has collected all three keys.

  4. Step 4

Obtain the Crystal Crown. Although it brings no advantage to game play, it grants the possessor 1,500 points at the end of the game. This is an easy way to rack up a lot of points.

  5. Step 5

Use Scouts and Healers sparingly, since they can be activated only four to six times before needing to be replaced.

Tips & Warnings
  • Working copies of The Dark Tower game are extremely rare and often sell for hundreds of dollars.
