Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Install your wireless alarm system control box in a central location so that it can receive a strong, clear signal from everything being monitored by the system. Also choose a location that is difficult for a burglar to reach without tripping the alarm, such as an interior closet or basement.
Step2
Install wireless motion detectors in the room where the safe is located. They use infrared sensors to detect movement and will sound an alarm if the path between the sensor and receiver is "broken" once the system has been activated. These should not be used if there is normally a lot of activity in the area.
Step3
Install a magnetic contact on the door to the safe. This is basically a switch that sends out a signal when the safe's door is opened, and contact between the magnet and sensor is broken. These are also commonly used on doors and windows.
Step4
Set up a wireless or CCTV camera to monitor the room. When activated, the camera will begin recording movement in the room and transmit a video signal to the alarm system. Some use a face recognition system that will trigger an alarm if the person is not recognized.
