3
Prep the area around your house. Close all windows and doors, cover plants and shrubs to protect them from soap and move any obstacles away from the sides of the house.
-
4
Mix a cleaning solution. Laundry detergent combined with water works well. Your local hardware store may also have products or soaps designed for use on aluminum siding. Starting at the top of the house and working down, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the siding and remove all the dirt.
-
5
Rinse off the cleaning solution with the hose or pressure washer before it has a chance to dry. If you choose to use a pressure washer, set the pressure to low so you don't damage or dent the aluminum.

6
Consider repainting your siding if necessary. If you decide to paint, prep the siding by sanding it with fine-grit sandpaper and applying a metal primer designed for aluminum. Patch any damaged areas with filler specifically made for use with metal. Use a spray painter to apply an even coat of paint.
