For years, nasty-tasting castor oil has been a staple of the old-fashioned medicine cabinet. However, it also has dozens of uses around the house. Here are some ideas for using castor oil at home.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Soften cuticles with castor oil. Massage a small amount into your nails and cuticles each day. The high vitamin-E content works wonders on cuticles and brittle nails.
Step2
Warm some castor oil and use it for a massage. Heat it on half-power in the microwave and make sure it's the right temperature before applying it to skin.
Step3
Lubricate kitchen scissors and avoid toxic petroleum oils. Use castor oil to lubricate any utensils that touch food.
Step4
Medicate your sickly ferns by mixing one tablespoon of castor oil and one tablespoon of baby shampoo in 4 cups of lukewarm water. Feed the fern about 3 tablespoons of this tonic daily and follow with plain water.
Step5
Condition your hair with 2 teaspoons of castor oil and 1 teaspoon of glycerine mixed with 1 egg white. Massage the mixtures into wet hair, leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse. The result is shiny, healthy locks.
Step6
Encourage moles to move on my mixing a half-cup of castor oil in 2 gallons of water and pouring it down the mole hole. The solution won't kill the moles but encourages them to relocate to another neighborhood.
