Whether you tour Boston Harbor by land or by sea, you'll have plenty to see. Perhaps the best way to tour Boston Harbor is to begin with a cruise of the harbor itself, followed by a walking tour. Your tour guide can point out the major points of interest, and you can follow up with the ones you wish to visit.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Depart on a boat tour. There are many cruise lines that offer tours of Boston Harbor. Some tours even offer dinner cruises and evening entertainment. Choose the places you would like to explore in greater detail.

  2. Step 2

Tour the Boston World Trade Center, the financial hub of Boston. This is also the starting point for most of the harbor tours.

  3. Step 3

Relive the Boston Tea Party. Throw some tea in the harbor at the site where rebel colonists, disguised as Indians, dumped tea in the harbor to protest unfair British taxes.

  4. Step 4

View the spire of Old North Church. Built in 1723, the light from the lantern hung in the steeple sent Paul Revere on his famous ride to warn the colonists of the invading British forces.

  5. Step 5

Walk in the footsteps of the soldiers who fought the Battle of Bunker Hill. The monument that commemorates this battle has a 221-foot granite obelisk with a spiral staircase. There are also various exhibits about the famous battle.

  6. Step 6

Check out Old Ironsides, officially known as the USS Constitution. Launched in 1797, the ship is the oldest fully commissioned naval vessel in the world.

  7. Step 7

Wander through the harbor area, and enjoy the sights and sounds. Take time to sample the great food at the many restaurants in the area.
