1
Wear all white. The wrappings of a mummy costume will only disguise so much, so wear something light in color underneath.
-
2
Tear an old white sheet into long strips, leaving the body of the sheet intact with the strips hanging down. Wear the sheet like a cloak. It's very convincing to the average child out trick-or-treating.

3
Paint your face white. Part of the fun of Halloween, face-painting complements a mummy costume quite nicely. Aim for the pale complexion of someone who has been dead for quite some time.
-
4
Cover your hands. Wear white gloves and wrap gauze around the gloves for added effect.
-
5
Cut an old white sheet into strips and have someone wrap your head, face, and neck in the strips and attach the ends to your skin with adhesive tape. Leave gaps so you can breathe through your nose and mouth. Then swath your hands and any other visible part of your body.
-
6
Get into character. It isn't enough to simply dress like a mummy. In order to pull off the costume with adequate Halloween flare you must also perform as though you were waking from the sleep of a thousand years; imagine the stiff and achy joints and muscles.
