Plan a Spiderman themed birthday party the kids will be talking about for weeks. Make a comic book invitation to get your guests excited for your party. Use the basic red and blue colors to coordinate a party with simple decorations, cake and games.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blue streamers
  • Red streamers
  • Tape
  • Spiderman picture
  • Copy machine
  • Balloons
  • Plastic spiders
  • Fish line

    Make Comic Book Invitations

  1. Step 1

Make photo copies of a Spiderman comic book. Get pictures of Spiderman in different poses with some of the gang.

  2. Step 2

Put one comic square on the front of the invitation with a title using your son's name: "Spiderman and Joe Invite You."

  3. Step 3

Create a comic strip inside the card using three or four comic squares. Make up your own words for each. In the text of the comic strip, include the date, time and location of the party.

  4. Step 4

Copy as many invitations as you need at a local copy store.

  5. Play Pin Spiderman on the Web

  6. Step 1

Cut a picture of Spiderman out. The Spiderman should be about hand size or a little smaller. Glue the picture on a piece of tag board and cut around it.

  7. Step 2

Draw a web on a large piece of black tag board. Use white crayon or chalk to draw a circular web with a spot in the middle serving as the target.

  8. Step 3

Put a piece of tape on the back of your Spiderman cutout. Blindfold each guest.

  9. Step 4

Turn them around a few times to disorient them and, just like in the old fashioned "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," have them put the Spiderman on the web.

  10. Make a Spiderman Birthday Cake

  11. Step 1

Bake a two-layer nine-inch round cake. Frost the top, sides and in between layers with white frosting.

  12. Step 2

Pipe blue frosting on the cake in circles starting in the middle with a little circle, working your way to the outside putting circles every inch or so.

  13. Step 3

Use a toothpick to pull frosting from the center towards the outside of the cake through the blue circles you piped on. Do this in a pattern to make a web on top the cake.

  14. Step 4

Put a toy Spiderman on the cake on top the web.

  15. Decorate the Room as a Web

  16. Step 1

Attach blue and red streamers to the ceiling. Start in the center with all streamers and connect the other end of each piece to an outer edge of the ceiling.

  17. Step 2

Rotate colors, using blue then red then blue.

  18. Step 3

Copy a picture of Spiderman, enlarging it enough so it can be seen on the ceiling.

  19. Step 4

Hang the Spiderman picture near the center of the ceiling. Add red and blue balloons to the web by taping them to the ceiling and streamers.

  20. Step 5

Hang plastic spiders by tying them to fish line and attaching the line to the ceiling.

Tips & Warnings
  • Write Happy Birthday on the side of the round cake.
  • Make a 9x13 cake instead. Make one area the spider web with Spiderman and write your birthday message on the rest of the cake.
