Printing a postage label from your home is not only convenient, but it can also save you time and money. Tracking is generally included with this online service and the online rates are cheaper than the rates at your local United States Postal Service (USPS). If you know the weight of your package and have the address, you can quickly and easily print a postage label with your Zebra printer.

Sign in or sign up for an account on the USPS website. Enter the "Return Address" information, including your email and phone number, if applicable. Check "Get Track & Confirm notifications via email," if desired. Choose the "Shipping from ZIP Code" or enter a new zip code in the box. Check the "Save in Address Book" to save your mailing address. Click the "Zip Code Lookup" link to find a zip code, if needed.

Complete the "Delivery Address" portion of the form. Include an email address and check the "Notify recipient of shipping, via Email Ship Notification" to let the recipient know when it's shipped. Check the "Save in Address Book" to add this address for future use.

Wrap the package. Seal it with tape as if it were going to be mailed. Weigh it using your scale or by taking it to your local post office or other mailing facility. Enter the weight, including the pounds and ounces, into the appropriate boxes on the USPS website.

Measure the length and girth of your package. (See the Tips section for a definition of girth.) Enter "Yes, No or Not Sure" to this question: "Is your package larger than 84 inches in length and girth and/or over 1 cubic foot?" Check with your shipping facility to find out the time the USPS or other facility closes to select the correct shipping date. Select a shipping date of up to three days by pulling down to the desired date. Choose "Express Mail Hold For Pickup at Post Office," if desired.

Insure your package by entering the amount of insurance into the appropriate box, if desired. Click "Continue" on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.

Choose one of the available ways to send your package. Note the delivery time and applicable fees. Turn your Zebra 2844 printer on. Make sure that it's ready to print before continuing. Click "Continue" at the bottom right-hand side of the page.

Click "Edit Printer Settings" in the Printer section. Click "Label Printer." Pull down to Zebra LP2844-Z or Zebra TLP 2844 and click "Save." Choose the Printing Options on your printer to change any printer settings. Click "Print Label" and wait for the label to complete printing. Click "OK" after the label has completely printed or click "Cancel" to attempt to print the label again.
