How to Become a Disneyland Tokyo Tour Guide

It's hard to call it work when you spend the day at one of the most magical places on Earth, especially when you're guiding excited tourists through an amazing theme park. That's what's in store for you if you're a tour guide at Disneyland Tokyo. Landing a job like that is easier than you might think--here are a few tips on how to get the gig.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a resume that highlights your strong suits as they pertain to the job description. Customer service, public speaking, any former theme park or Disneyland experience and Japanese culture-related knowledge is perfect. To set your application apart, a dynamic cover letter is also recommended.

    • 2

Find job openings by visiting the Disneyland Tokyo website. Look at the list of available jobs to see if they're currently looking for a tour guide. If you live near Disneyland in Anaheim or Disneyworld in Orlando, take a trip to their human relations offices and inquire about any information that might help you make the move to Tokyo. Make contacts, if you know someone in the Disney system, they'll be that more interested in helping you.

    • 3

Prepare your application. Fill in each blank thoroughly so they know you pay attention to details. Submit your application, resume and cover letter online by mail, or in person.

    • 4

Show enthusiasm and initiative by calling a representative in the hiring department about one week after submitting your application. This will likely help you gain favor during the hiring process.

    • 5

You should have a very firm grasp on the Japanese language as well as some of the more common languages such as English and Spanish. A well-rounded linguist is going to go automatically to the top of the list of candidates.

    • 6

Prepare for your upcoming interviews by learning more about Disneyland Tokyo by perusing their website and talking to other people who work there. Read over their mission, and determine what assets you bring to the table that will help them accomplish their mission.

    • 7

Arrive early for your job interview, and be dressed appropriately. Answer their questions honestly and be excited about the opportunity to work there. Ask questions about the job to show interest.

    • 8

Enjoy your new job as a tour guide at Disneyland Tokyo. And remember all the hard work it took to get this dream job.
