Digital Video Recording (DVR) is a convenience that many nowadays have. It makes watching television more accessible. Using the DVR remote can be confusing, though, if you've lost your manual or have never utilized it. Master the remote for hours of DVR fun.

From Quick Guide: Using DVRs
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look for the DVR buttons, which are usually located in the middle of the remote. They are usually brightly colored for easier use and locating.

  2. Step 2

Find the button labeled DVR on the remote. Pushing this button brings up your DVR menu. From there, you can either find programs to record or play your already recorded programs. Use the arrow keys on the remote to move up and down through the menus. The middle button, usually labeled "OK," "SELECT" or "ENTER," accepts your menu choice.

  3. Step 3

Locate the other buttons on your DVR remote. The one labeled with a triangle is the "PLAY" button, the circle is the "RECORD" button, the square is to "STOP." Pressing the button with the two parallel lines will "PAUSE" the program. The button with the two triangles facing left is your "REWIND." Two triangles facing right indicates "FAST FORWARD" and some remotes have a curves arrow facing forward indicating "SKIP FORWARD."

Tips & Warnings
  • To move faster through a program, hit the "FAST FORWARD" or "REWIND" button several times to increase the speed.
