Calling a psychic hotline is a once-in-awhile thrill for some, a hobby for many and an addiction for others. There's no right or wrong way to call a psychic hotline. Just be sure to call one that has friendly, knowledgeable psychics, not shysters. Psychic hotlines aren't created equal, and some poor souls discover that when they get their phone bill.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Call a psychic hotline that's been around for awhile. If you've seen its flyers, business cards or an 800 number for years, it's probably reputable. Since the ETC charged phone psychic Miss Cleo with fraud in a famous case in the early 2000s, psychic hotlines are under more scrutiny for their billing practices.
Step2
Act as natural as possible when talking to the psychic. Even if you're anxious about a possible job or lover and want to hear good things, don't be nervous. In some ways, the psychic is like a therapist who listens to your troubles and questions and tries to help and comfort you.
Step3
Express your emotions honestly. This will help the psychic to key in on your feelings and vibrations. Yes, some of them are really able to do that. If you feel like crying, it's all right. You don't need to be embarrassed. You'll never meet the psychic in person, so don't worry about making a fool out of yourself by pouring out your feelings.
Step4
Jot down a few questions before calling the psychic hotline. In the heat of the moment, you might start talking about something entirely different than your original subject. You don't want to hang up the phone, only to realize you need to call back and incur another phone charge for a second session.
Step5
Realize that the psychic isn't going to tell you everything you want to hear. Don't get upset if this happens. After you hang up, think about what they've told you, and calmly accept it as their psychic opinion. Take it with a grain of salt, consider it and move on.
Step6
Check the small print on ads and flyers before you call. Make sure "$1.99" a minute is just that, and keep your cell phone or clock handy to check the length of your call. You want to get a pleasant surprise about a new boyfriend or girlfriend after your call to the psychic hotline, not an a huge phone bill.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't call a psychic hotline when you're tipsy. You might be on the phone all night.
