The Around the Corner is a neat y-yo trick that you must practice to achieve perfection. If you can easily throw a Gravity Pull or a Sleeper, you should be able to perform the Around the Corner.
Wind the yo-yo string all the way around the yo-yo's axle. Put the loop of the string around the middle finger of your dominant hand (in this example we will say it is the right hand). Grasp the yo-yo firmly in your palm.
Step2
Grip the yo-yo in your open palm with your palm facing upward and bend your arm at the elbow, bringing the yo-yo towards you as if you are trying to make a muscle.
Step3
Bring the arm back down with a snap. Let the yo-yo roll off your fingers as if you were throwing a Sleeper or a Spinner. Keep your palm turned towards the floor.
Step4
Swing your arm to the right until your palm is facing upward and out to the right slightly. Keep your elbow close to you. Pull the yo-yo around until it and the string is behind you and over your right shoulder.
Step5
Keep your elbow at shoulder level and lower your right hand downward, bending your arm at the elbow while the yo-yo is behind you. As you reach down, pinch the yo-yo string behind you with your fingers and thumb. Jerk it to bring it back upward.
Step6
Bring your hand slightly in front of you, keeping your elbow straight out to the right. Catch the yo-yo in your hand as it goes back up and around your shoulder.
