The Creeper is a basic yo-yo maneuver that almost any beginner should be able to do with practice. The following steps will help you do the Creeper yo-yo trick.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yo-yo
  • Smooth floor
  1. Step 1

Find an area with a hardwood floor or other hard surface. You cannot perform the Creeper yo-yo trick on carpeted floors.

  2. Step 2

Wind the yo-yo string all the way around its axle and put the string loop around the middle finger of your dominant hand.

  3. Step 3

Grip the yo-yo in the open palm of this hand with your palm facing upward and bend your arm at the elbow, bringing the yo-yo towards you as if you are trying to make a muscle.

  4. Step 4

Bring the arm back down with a snap and let the yo-yo roll off your fingers as if you were throwing a "sleeper." Turn your hand so the palm faces down when the yo-yo is completely off your hand.

  5. Step 5

Lower the yo-yo gently until it barely touches the hard floor. As the yo-yo continues spinning, let it roll forward along the floor, just like in the Walk the Dog trick.

  6. Step 6

Squat down as the yo-yo spins out in front of you along the floor, keeping your palm facing the yo-yo. Keep your hand just a few inches form the ground.

  7. Step 7

Give the yo-yo a slight tug when it reaches the end of the string to bring it back along the floor returning into your open palm while keeping your hand low.
