Miami Ink is a reality television show on The Learning Channel that follows the colorful lives of five tattoo artists and the customers they ink in their shop. To have the best chance of being selected to appear on the show, you should be prepared to showcase a big personality and a love of tattoos.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Video recorder
  • Blank VHS tape or DVD disc

Step1
Head to Miami Ink's casting website if you live in the Miami area, or plan on visiting, and want to get tattooed on the show.
Step2
Choose the month, date and year you were born from the available options, and click "Submit." You must be 18 years of age or older to appear on Miami Ink.
Step3
Type your personal information in the spaces provided, including your full name, address, email address, and phone number.
Step4
Write the story of why you want to get the tattoo. To increase your chances of getting selected to appear on the show, make sure your story is honest, interesting and full of detail.
Step5
Upload a photo of yourself and a photo of the tattoo style you want. Miami Ink staff members use the photos for casting purposes only and you won't get them back.
Step6
Send a videotape of yourself explaining why you want to appear on the show to get tattooed. The Miami Ink staff accepts VHS, mini-DVD and DVD formats. Send the video to Miami Ink Casting, 1348 Washington Avenue, Suite 238, Miami Beach, Florida 33139.

Videos are for casting purposes only, and you will not receive your video back.

If you are a South Florida resident, you do not need to send in a video.
Step7
Mail a non-refundable $100 deposit for the tattoo if you are notified that you've been selected to be in the Miami Ink pool of clients. If you are later chosen to appear on the show, the $100 will serve as a credit toward the cost of your tattoo. However, being a member of the pool of clients does not guarantee you'll appear on the show.
Step8
Remember that Miami Ink does not reimburse you for travel and lodging expenses as a result of appearing on the show.
