The Thin for Life diet is not only a diet, but an overall healthier lifestyle. Not only will you lose weight by following the diet's recommendations, but you'll reduce your risk of developing serious heart conditions. Thin for Life was created by nutritionist Anne Fletcher.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Follow the six week program outlined in the Thin for Life book. Each week on the program, you slowly integrate foods from different food groups into your diet. To start, you will eliminate fats and sweets from your diet.
Step2
Use non-fat substitutes in your foods. Dairy items, such as sour cream and milk, should be used in their low-fat or non-fat versions.
Step3
Eat foods with a lot of flavor, but that are not high in fats and calories. A sample meal would include fish flavored with lemon and a small amount of margarine along with mixed vegetables in lemon juice.
Step4
Find the way to diet that works for you. Fletcher encourages that you diet the way that best suits your lifestyle. If you are unhappy with a diet, you won't be able to follow it.
Step5
Get a support system. Support from friends and family will help you achieve your weight loss goals. This is discussed under the Thin for Life's "10 Keys for Success."

Tips & Warnings

  • The main pull of the Thin for Life books is the stories that are shared by dieters that have lost 20 pounds or more and have maintained that weight loss.
  • Don't expect to lose 10 pounds in the first week on the diet. The weight loss is gradual when following the Thin for Life diet.
