How to Use RSS Feeds on Mac OS X
Users of Apple's OSX can easily add RSS feeds without the use of separate aggregator (or feed reader) software. RSS feed reading capability is conveniently included in the Safari browser, and RSS feeds can easily be displayed as a screensaver.

Navigate to a web page that offering RSS feeds and a blue RSS button will appear in the Safari URL window. Clicking that button lists all RSS feeds the site offers.

Choose desired feeds, and add them to the Bookmarks Menu by selecting "Add to Bookmarks." Either add to an existing folder or create a new RSS feed folder.

View RSS feeds by selecting them as one would any other bookmark.

Adjust RSS settings by selecting "Preferences" under "RSS" when in the RSS Viewer Pane.

Create a screensaver that shows current RSS content by selecting "System Preferences" under the "Apple" Menu. Select "Desktop & Screen Saver." In the Screen Savers list, choose "RSS Visualizer."

Click on "Options" and select the preferred RSS feed from the list. This feed will be displayed as the screen saver.

Select a third party RSS reader, if desired, by opening Safari, clicking "Preferences" under "Safari" and selecting the desired reader from the dropdown list to the right of Default RSS Reader. Other options, such as how often to check for updates, what color to highlight new articles with and when to remove articles, can be adjusted in this window as well.
