How to Start an eBay Customer Rewards Program

If you run an eBay business, you may be able to snag returning customers by starting a customer rewards program. People love to get a discount or something for free, so a solid rewards program will help new and past customers choose you over another eBay seller.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Pick which types of rewards you want to use. There are many ways that you can reward your customers, including giving a specified dollar amount off for every specified dollar amount they purchase. This is a customer favorite.
Step2
Put coupon codes in with your shipped orders. This will encourage customers to return to your auctions and "look around" when they otherwise would not. They will also be more willing to make a purchase if they see something they like. Make sure your coupons include an expiration date.
Step3
Offer free shipping. Knowing that the price they bid will be the price that they pay for an item will encourage them to bid, and to bid higher than they normally would. Ebay buyers are always keeping their bids lower than they are willing to pay, so that they can cover any shipping surprises.
Step4
Announce the rewards program on your homepage and post a special email to past customers. Some customers will not return to your auctions unless they have a reason to; therefore, they may not know about your program unless you tell them. This will also give them the reason they need to return to your auctions.
