Organizing your cash in your wallet is a smart money move because you won't have the embarrassing moment of pulling out crumbled, folded bills or holding up the line of impatient customers while you fumble around trying to find the correct bill to pay for your merchandise. Follow these steps to organize the cash in your wallet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Organize you bills numerically. Start at ones, and then fives, tens, twenties, fifties and hundreds. The cash must be right there, so you can easily grab it without fumbling around.

  2. Step 2

Keep the ones up front, on the outside, most in view, so others can't see the larger bills. You never know who is near or behind you when you are opening your wallet to pay for something with cash. Placing ones on the inside and outside hides the rest of the larger bills.

  3. Step 3

Have all the bills facing the same direction. The faces lining up with all the other faces--no upside down Presidents or Ben Franklins. This helps keep a quick inventory, so you know how much you have and what you can buy.

  4. Step 4

Keep your wallet organized and clean to save you money because you can see and know where all your cash is.

Tips & Warnings
  • Very little time is needed to organize your cash in your wallet. You save time, and you are not inclined to make a mistake by handing over the incorrect bill when paying for something.
  • Having cash organized in your wallet is a must because you never know when you'll need to pay for something quick like a tip at a diner or slide a dollar into a machine for a thirst-quenching cold water.
  • There's nothing like impressing people with organized cash in your wallet.
