1
Place a towel over the chair to prevent water damage. Have the kid sit in the chair with her back open to you, not against the back of the chair. You want to be able to comfortably get to the hair, not reach over the chair's back.
-
2
Spray the detangler or watered-downed conditioner thoroughly into the knots until they are dampened but not soaked.

3
Starting at the bottom, work your way up the hair. Hold the piece of the hair you are working on still with your opposite hand so you don't pull the hair as you comb out the knots. Comb downwards while gradually moving up, and then gently work you way back down the hair.

Continue the process, always concentrating on moving towards the head and closer to the knot, and then down the hair until all the knots are completely gone.

Tips & Warnings
Do the process in a room that has a tile floor, like a bathroom. The job might get messy with the detangler spray. You wouldn't want to stain the carpet.

Try the Take Down Remover cream, it will make the detangling process a whole lot faster and easier.
