Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 2 to 4 players
- Equal number of marbles per player
- Rocks or caulk for boundary lines
- Flat, rough surface to play
Step1
Distribute the same amount of marbles to each player. Use medium-sized marbles, which work the best with this game because they bounce well. Find a flat rough surface to play this game, such as a sidewalk or driveway.
Step2
Determine who goes first. A good method of doing this is to play rhyming games such as "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" or "One potato, two potato." You can also play by age and let the youngest player go first.
Step3
Mark boundary lines with two rocks or with chalk that are about 5 feet apart. Stand on one line, and don't go past the other with your marble. There is no penalty for doing so; these are just guidelines so your marbles don't travel too far.
Step4
Hold your marble about chest-high out in front of you, and lightly throw it on the ground if you are the first player. Get it close to the boundary line, but not too far past it.
Step5
Hit the first player's marble, if you are the second player, by throwing your bouncer and aiming at your opponent's marble. Continue this way as everyone takes a turn trying to hit the other marbles.
Step6
Pay your opponent one marble from your hand, if your marble is hit. Drop out of the game when you run out of marbles to bounce. If you don't have any marbles to pay, the player that hit your marble may take the one off the playing field that he hit.
Step7
Win the game when you are the only player remaining with marbles in your hand.
