Your front yard sets the stage for the life that goes on inside your house. Decorating a yard is fun and should reflect your personality. Feng shui can make it an energizing, relaxing haven.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Mow your lawn in an even pattern that is pleasing to the eye. The flow of the lawn will dictate the flow of feng shui energy into your home.

  2. Step 2

Decorate your lawn with trees, flowering bushes and plants. Live plants bring the wood element of feng shui into your space, which is needed to correct any imbalances that may occur in the house.

  3. Step 3

Build a walkway that is flowing and meandering if possible. Decorate alongside the walkway with plants and yard art which will slow visitors down as they cross your lawn, giving them time to collect the energy you have created. They also will bring a smile or a peaceful feeling to all who enter.

  4. Step 4

Keep lawn décor within the boundaries created by your neighbors. Garish decorations can cause friction among your neighbors, which could affect any harmony you are trying to create

  5. Step 5

Plant taller trees and thick bushes around the lawn to contain the energy of your home. A solid hedge can help keep the ch'i within the boundaries and close to you and your family. Trim trees that cast too much shade or darkness over the house.
