1. Go through the reading material that comes with your Encarta software. Get familiar with the whole book. Write down questions on a separate pad of paper. After reading the entire book, go back and read the downloading instructions. Make sure that your computer has everything it needs to run the software.
2. Take the start up disc and place it in your disc drive. Follow the start up programs. Allow the software to download into your computer. Accept licensing agreement for use when it's done downloading. Restart your computer.
3. Call your Encarta software up and go through the tutorials on how to use the program. Find a topic of interest for you, and search for it. Read about it. If there's a word you don't understand, look it up on Encarta. Some of the words have hyper links. Click on those links to read more about those words.
4. Head to your favorite news webpage. Pick and read news articles. Refer to your Encarta software if you have questions about what you're reading. Bookmark Encarta's page if you're a college student or hold a job that requires fact finding research. You want to use this software as much as possible.
