Neopaganism includes a variety of new religious movements that are influenced by ancient Pagan religions. The modern neopagan faiths have been constructed from beliefs, symbols, deities, ritual practices and other elements of ancient religions. While there are many different individual neopagan religions practiced today, there are a few elements common to the all of them.

  1. Step 1

Be kind and positive towards others. The neopagan ethic is one of positivity. Every individual is responsible for discovering their own nature and developing it fully, to create harmony with the world.

  2. Step 2

Believe in karma. Neopagans believe that humans have the ability to manipulate energy and cause change in the world. They believe that the things a person does or the energy one sends out, comes back to them. Therefore, if you perform magic to heal, you can expect beneficial energy in return; however if you perform magic to harm you can expect harmful energy in return.

  3. Step 3

Practice witchcraft. Neopagan traditions include "magical" elements in their belief systems and ritual practices. The term magic is used loosely, depending on which religion you are practicing, and can vary from belief in the supernatural to the actual practice of magic.

  4. Step 4

Choose the path of faith that is right for you. Neopagans do not believe that there is one correct path; rather they believe that everyone has the right to choose the path that is best for them.

  5. Step 5

Love nature and develop a kinship with it. Neopagans do not believe in an attitude of aggression or domination over nature. Nature is the life force and neopagans recognize and hold sacred its unending cycles of life and death.

  6. Step 6

Celebrate lunar and solar cycles, the seasons and nature. The types of festivals that are practiced and the times they are celebrated varies depending on the region and religion, however you can purchase a festival calendar specific to your beliefs.

  7. Step 7

Hold rituals outside of temples or churches. Neopagans usually have their rituals in private homes or in sacred outdoor locations. Others keep their faith a secret and don't hold rituals with others, but practice as solitary practitioners alone in their homes.
