Vinyl lettering gives you a chance to decorate your living space without harming painted or papered walls. This kind of decoration comes in handy, especially if you live in an apartment or other such space where you're not allowed to do any other kind of decorating. Vinyl lettering can be easily applied and removed, at an affordable cost, to liven up your living space.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search online for various places from which to buy a variety of vinyl letters. Also check out local craft stores to see if they may have in stock the letters that you need.

  2. Step 2

Determine what words you will be adding to your wall spaces. This will be necessary in purchasing the necessary letters. You may want to add famous quotes, or lyrics to a favorite song, for example.

  3. Step 3

Compare prices of the various forms and types of letters you'll need. Check various sites and stores until you are satisfied with the prices for the quantity and types of letters that you will buy.

  4. Step 4

Plan out the way that you'll place the letters on the wall in question, before you begin to place them. You can do this on paper, or on the computer using a word processing program, or even Power Point.

  5. Step 5

Place the letters in the way that you want, keeping yourself open to spontaneity. If something doesn't look right the way you planned it, move the letters around until you get the effect that you want.

  6. Step 6

Keep in mind that the letters can be of varying sizes, shapes and styles. If a particular set of words doesn't "look right" once you put them on the wall, consider looking for another style of lettering.

Tips & Warnings
  • A great benefit to using vinyl lettering to decorate your walls is that they go on and come off very easily.
