How to Use Spybot
Spybot-Search & Destroy is a free spyware and adware removal software. It is a comprehensive tool for removing tracking cookies, spyware, malware and detecting registry changes. It contains an immunization tool and blocks your computers against known malicious viruses. Unlike most spyware removal programs, a list of the known spyware being checked appears at the bottom of the screen instead of the legitimate files on the computer.

Download Spybot-Search & Destroy from its official site or one of the mirror sites listed on its web page or download.com. Follow the pop-up windows until the program is saved on your hard drive so you can use it.

Click "Check for Problems" at the top of the Spybot screen. A list of all the known spyware and adware Spybot checks will run at the bottom of the screen. When Spybot locates a problem the name of the tracking cookie, registry change or spyware will appear in the white box in the middle of the Spybot screen, along with the number of spyware traces and where it is located on your files.

Let Spybot run until it gives a final tally of found spyware. Make sure all of the boxes next to the found problems are checked, and click "Fix Selected Problems" at the top of the screen. Then click "Yes" on the pop-up box, and the entries will be removed. A large green checkmark next to the spyware name on the white part of the Spybot screen will verify this.

Find the Immunize icon on the side panel. When you click it, the immunize screen will pop up. Click "Immunize" and check "Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer." to ensure full protection.

Update Spybot often by clicking on the "Update" icon or bar on the Spybot screen. Spybot offers a list of potential updates, so scroll through them and pick and choose the ones you want to use or choose all of them just to be safe.

Tips & Warnings
Use the "Backup Registry" function on Spybot to undo any changes and restore your computer files to their original state.
