For many people, buying a gift is a difficult task which becomes even more difficult, if that recipient is a teen. Most people have trouble figuring out what those between the ages of ten and twenty would want or need. If you want to buy a gift for a middle school grad, there are a few easy steps that will help you choose the perfect gift.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select a gift certificate, because it allows the grad to choose what they want to buy. A middle school graduate will usually be thirteen or fourteen years old, so a gift card to a clothing store, music store, video store, local theater or a general gift certificate to the local mall, may be your best options.

  2. Step 2

Ask a relative who is about the same age, what things they,or others their age, like. Although every kid is an individual, it will give you some direction, so that you won't be buying blindly.

  3. Step 3

Get them something that they can use, going into high school. It may not "wow" them, but it will be something that will be useful. If you can't think of anything specific, a gift card to a large discount store can always help for buying school supplies.

  4. Step 4

Talk to the parents of the grad and ask them what their child is interested in. This may seem like cheating, but it is better than spending money on an unwanted gift.

  5. Step 5

Include a gift receipt if you buy anything other than a gift certificate.
