PVC sprinkler toys are easy to make. The fun toys are hooked directly into your garden hose. PVC pipe is a long-lasting, light weight, plastic tubing and is easy to move. Assemble the sprinkler toy in less than 10 minutes and give your child hours of outside entertainment.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape measure
  • 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe cut 4-feet in length
  • Hack saw
  • 3 1/2-inch elbow connectors
  • 1 3-way corner connector
  • Drill and bit
  • Garden hose connector
  • PVC cement
  • Garden hose
  1. Step 1

Measure and cut the PVC pipe into four 1-foot sections.

  2. Step 2

Create a square out of the four sections. Use the elbow connectors to connect three of the sides and the 3-way connector to connect the forth side. Use PVC cement to seal the connectors and the pipe.

  3. Step 3

Coat the inside of the open end of the 3-way connector with PVC cement and insert the garden hose connector. Allow the cement to dry completely.

  4. Step 4

Drill holes sporadically throughout the top of the PVC square. Drilling holes in the bottom of the square, ruins the toy.

  5. Step 5

Use a 1/16- or 1/8-inch drill bit to drill the holes. The smaller the holes, the better the effect.

  6. Step 6

Attach the garden hose to the connector once the cement is completely dry.

  7. Step 7

Turn the water on. Check for leaks around the connectors. If there is a leak, dry the area around the leak and apply more cement. Let it dry completely. Repeat until all leaks are sealed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make the sprinkler toy any size you want. Make multiple squares and connect them using "T" connectors and small, 3-inch long pipes.
