Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a razor for designed for your gender. Many women's razors are made for the contours of the female body and include a lubricating strip for sensitive skin. Men's varieties often have additional blades and are intended for use on the face.

  2. Step 2

Pick a disposable razor with a long or textured handle. These give you better control when shaving to reduce nicks and cuts.

  3. Step 3

Consider the number of blades. Single blade razors do not perform as well as ones with multiple blades, either on the face or the body. Multiple blades offer a closer, more precise shave.

  4. Step 4

Look for disposable razors with pivoting heads. As you shave, the head moves to form to the curves on your body or face which ensures you don't miss any hard-to-reach hairs.

  5. Step 5

Buy a disposable razor with a lubricating strip if you have sensitive skin. Often made with aloe and vitamin E, these offer relief from the tugging and scrapping effects of shaving.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use your disposable razor a maximum of six times to maintain blade performance and prevent skin damage.
  • Use plenty of lubricant such as soap or shaving cream when using your disposable razors to protect skin and get a close, clean shave.
