Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Measuring tape
- Wood
- Screen
- Concrete
- Post hole digger
- Carpenter staples
- Saw
Step1
Decide where you'd like to have your patio screen. You don't have to screen all sides of the patio. You might decide that you only want one on the side that exposes the patio to the most direct sunlight.
Step2
Measure the area that you want to put the screen on. It's important to get this right, so measure it two or three times so that you can be certain you have it exactly.
Step3
Dig two uniformly deep holes, one at each end of the patio. This is where you'll anchor your frame. Dig the holes are deep enough so that the frame will be secure.
Step4
Build the frame for your patio screen. Hammer four pieces of wood together in a rectangle, but be sure to leave enough length at the bottom so that you will be able to fit the posts into the holes to anchor the frame. If you want to paint or stain the wood, now's a good time to do it since you'll be able to maneuver easily before it has been installed.
Step5
Use carpenter staples to attach the screen to the frame.
Step6
Anchor the screen into the post holes, and fill the post holes with concrete so that it won't move or fall. If the screen falls, it could damage some of the things that you have on the patio or it could hurt someone.
Step7
Let the concrete dry.
