Step 1
Allow the concrete to dry after having poured footers or concrete bases for deck posts as desired.

Step 2
Bolt boards to your house with short bolts that can be removed in a later step. These will serve as the basic frame for your deck. Level the boards to make sure they're even with one another.

Screw or nail boards that will attach the basic frame boards together. These boards will support the first boards you installed.

Step 4
Cut two boards that will act as the joist boards for your deck. They should be as long as your entire frame so far. The joists should be laid across the boards you've laid, and attach the joists to the other boards with joist hangers or with screws and nails.

Step 5
Take out the screws that you used to attach the initial two posts and drill holes where these screws used to be, so you can permanently secure the posts to your house.

Step 6
Bolt the beams to the posts with large carriage bolts, so your beams and posts will be permanently attached to each other and to your house.
