How to Pamper House Guests

You've invited some dear friends to stay with you for a few days during their summer or winter holidays. You haven't seen them since college, so you're a little nervous about entertaining. Mostly, you want your house guests to enjoy their time in your home and feel welcome to visit again. Pamper your guests well enough, and they may never want to leave.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Give them space. Designate guest space in your house and turn it over to your guests when they arrive. Whether it's a separate bedroom and bathroom or the den with a pull-out couch, your guests will feel more comfortable if they have a private space where they can retreat when they need a break from the entertainment.
Step2
Stock the fridge. Find out what your house guests like to snack on and be sure to have some on hand. Then, fill the fridge with fresh fruit, cheeses, deli meat and other read-to-eat items. When you entertain, you can't always predict when your guests will be hungry. With a fridge full of goodies, you can let them help themselves if they get hungry between meals.
Step3
Pre-wash the linens. Be sure to wash the sheets and towels before your guests arrive. New sheets and towels may look nice, but they don't always feel so good. A trip through the washer and dryer will soften the sheets and fluff up the towels. Run the blankets through the dryer with a softener sheet to make them smell fresh and feel cozy.
Step4
Manage the details. Supply the guest bathroom with salon-quality bath products. Leave a basket of necessities such as toothpaste, a new toothbrush and disposable razors on the counter, just in case. Arrange fresh flowers in the bedroom. When you entertain house guests, the little details are what make them truly comfortable.
