  • Sauce

Step1
Understand the cut of your meat. Prime beef is the highest cut. You want tender meat for quick cooking and less tender for slow cooking. You can buy beef raw, salted or smoked.
Step2
Roast a piece of beef in a roasting pan with a bit of water on the bottom or on a rack above the water. Cook fat side up so that the juices run into the meat. Cooking time depends on the cut of the meat, size of the piece and method of roasting. Check a cookbook for accuracy. Slice leftover roast beef, place on a bun and cover with gravy.
Step3
Fry steaks in a frying pan or wok with a bit of oil, water or broth. Steak can be served rare, medium or well done. Or cut up pieces of beef and stir fry, add a sauce and serve over rice.
Step4
Coat steaks with flour or bread crumbs and then fry the steaks. Add broth and noodles to make beef stroganoff.
Step5
Marinate tougher cuts of beef or steaks in marinades or coat the steaks with rubs or seasoning. You can also pound the meat to make it more tender which allows you buy tougher cuts at cheaper prices.
Step6
Barbeque steaks until they are rare, medium rare, medium or well done. Chop raw steaks into pieces and place on skewers to make kebobs. Add vegetables to skewers as well or cook separately. Serve meat and vegetables over rice.
Step7
Boil pieces of beef in a pot, crock pot or slow cooker until tender. Add vegetables and seasoning to make a variety of stews and soups.
Step8
Use well cooked ground beef for chili, stew, soup, lasagna, stuffed peppers, hamburgers and tacos.
