The Sugar Busters Diet is a diet plan that requires followers to limit their sugar intake in order to lose weight. The Sugar Busters Diet states that low-fat diets are not effective and that it is only possible to lose weight by getting rid of the sugar in your diet. You can find the Sugar Busters series of books and cookbooks at your local bookstore.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Find out the glycemic index of the foods that you eat. Print out a glycemic index of foods in order to avoid foods with a high glycemic index.
Step2
Eat a lot of vegetables and whole grains that are high in fiber. This is the main proponent of the Sugar Busters Diet. Vegetables and whole grains should make up the largest part of your diet.
Step3
Choose lower fat dairy products. Low-fat cheese, yogurt and skim milk are recommended in small amounts.
Step4
Drink a lot of fluids daily. The diet requires that you drink at least six to eight glasses of water each day.
Step5
Include a moderate amount of exercise in your Sugar Busters diet as well. In order to lose even more weight, design a daily exercise program.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sugar Busters has a line of food products that you can purchase to help you follow their diet. Choices include pasta, snacks, breads and frozen foods.
  • There is also a Sugar Busters program designed for children to follow. It is less restrictive than the adult program.
  • Avoid foods that are high in saturated and trans fats. These junk and fast foods are not only bad for your heart, but will also prevent you from losing weight.
