Step 1
Find a reputable holistic veterinarian. The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association can locate a veterinarian near you.
-
Step 2
Discuss holistic treatment options with your veterinarian. Ask your vet questions and consider all of your dog's options.
-
Step 3
Monitor your canine's food and water. Holistic treatment considers diet to be one of best treatments. Veterinarians recommend that a diet be 24 to 28 percent protein, three to 10 percent carbohydrates and 55 to 60 percent fat. This will help your dog build new tissues to fight cancer.
-
Step 4
Consider the supplement options. Your holistic veterinarian may want to place your canine on immune-boosting supplements. You and your vet will have to consider all of the possible routes, and this one is widely used.
-
Step 5
Investigate homeopathic treatments for canine cancer. Homeopathic treatments are very specific to individual dogs. It can greatly help your dog deal with the pain of cancer. Consult with a trained veterinary homeopath.
-
Step 6
Show your dog love and attention. Your canine will have up and down days. Be there for your pet to help it through this difficult period.

on 1/15/2008 Our dog is undergoing cancer treatment and it is important to change up their diet and keep it new and exciting for them. Dog's with cancer have very high metabolism, and it's important to make their food choices varied and different and VERY high calorie/nutrient dense.
Good luck
