Camouflage on a modern battlefield is essential for some missions. Darkness does not always ensure invisibility, so day or night it is important to maintain your camouflage. Read on to learn how to use camouflage.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Movement makes you visible so be aware of your silhouette and move smoothly and quietly.
Step2
Secure items in your pockets that might rattle and make noise. The sound of change rattling can be a dead give away to the bad guys.
Step3
Irregular organic shapes don't stand out as much as a human silhouette. Attaching leaves, grass and branches to your clothing can help to break up your shape.
Step4
Shadows provide protection from eyes adjusted to brighter light. So stay in shadows, even during daylight hours.
Step5
Vary your color combinations to match the terrain. You can better match the colors in your surroundings by attaching leaves, grass and branches from your surroundings to your clothing.
Step6
Skin reflects light, so applying camouflage make up or mud to exposed skin aids the camouflage. Apply dark colors on the brow, chin, jaw and nose. Apply light colors to the eye and mouth areas and neck.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are camouflaging yourself during deer season in the United States, wear some orange so hunters don't mistake you for a deer and shoot you.
  • Mud can contain bacteria so be careful when applying it to the skin.
