Things You'll Need:

  • Vintage Barbie dolls
  • A digital camera
  • An eBay account
  1. Step 1

Set up an eBay account if you don't already have one. To do this you will need a credit card and verified bank account to pay small seller fees.

  2. Step 2

Take good, detailed pictures of the dolls and accessories you want to sell. Professional-looking pictures that don't include the surroundings will sell best.

  3. Step 3

Research the value of your dolls and similar items, both on eBay and on other vintage doll websites. List the doll's value as your "Buy it Now" price or include the doll's estimated value in the item description to encourage early bidders.

  4. Step 4

In the eBay item description, clearly describe the doll's condition, the accessories you are including with the doll, and any special features such as rarity or special edition. Use exciting descriptors that highlight reasons why a buyer would be interested in purchasing the doll. Consider selling a bundle of dolls if you have several less valuable dolls to sell.

  5. Step 5

Get an edge on your competition by offering a lower base price and free shipping. Buyers will be more likely to bid on an item that has a lower cost initially, and it will usually rise to the "Buy it Now" price or higher if the item is in demand. You get to choose the shipping cost on eBay, so by offering free shipping you can attract more potential buyers.

  6. Step 6

If you are disappointed in the final sale of your item and feel that you did not receive the appropriate value, you can always cancel the sale and try again. ebay charges a small listing fee that you will still have to pay for listing your item, but you may have better luck selling around the holidays or another time.
