Instructions

    • 1

Turn the kayak upside down and measure the width and angle of the bottom of the boat. Use cardboard and scissors to get the angle right. Cut the wood to fit the bottom of the boat. Make a "V" shape in the wood so the boat slides into the dolly without letting the wheels hit the boat. The further apart the wheels are, the more stable the kayak is on the dolly.

    • 2

Drill a hole through the center of the wood for the axle. Use a drill press or boring bit for this job.

    • 3

Drive four nails or screws into the wood frame and into the axle. Space the screws out evenly.

    • 4

Attach the wheels with the push-out nuts and washers. Slide the wheels onto the axle. Press the washers and nuts onto the end.

    • 5

Cut the foam insulation to fit into the "V" to act as padding. Cut the foam so it slides over the wood.

    • 6

Screw the foam in place with three screws on each side.

    • 7

Screw the conduit clamp vertically on the front of the dolly.

    • 8

Thread the bungee cords through the clamp and around the kayak. Secure the cords to the top of the boat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store the dolly with the bungee cords in a small bag to keep it stashed away when in the kayak or in the car.
