Make an instant hammock in less than 10 minutes with just a few building materials. Use your instant hammock outside on a sunny day or inside in kid's room, playroom or dorm. Whether you are camping, lounging in the yard or just having fun, this is an easy way to create a hammock in no time.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 6 to 8 feet of 60-inch wide fabric
  • 2 pieces of thick rope cut 5 to 10 feet long
Step1
Gather the end of the fabric. Use a fabric of your choice that is either as thin as a sheet or as thick as woven curtains. The length of the fabric depends on your height. For people around 5-feet tall, use 6 feet of fabric. Add a foot of fabric to your height to determine the length of the fabric.
Step2
Tie the end of the fabric into a knot. Stretch the fabric to make sure that it is tight.
Step3
Tie one piece of rope around the inside of the knot. A large knot works the best but any knot works as long as it is tight.
Step4
Repeat the above steps for the other side of the hammock.
Step5
Find two sturdy poles or trees close enough together to hang the hammock but far enough apart that the hammock is not cramped.
Step6
Tie ropes around the tree or pole about 2 to 3 feet off the ground. Tighten the ropes and stretch out the hammock.
Step7
Jump in and relax.
