A laundry sorter is a container with different compartments to hold various types of clothes before doing laundry. This sorter has three compartments. You can make it bigger if you need more sections for a larger family or specialty clothing. Laundry sorters save time by keeping the laundry sorted and organized all the time. Read on to learn how to make a PVC laundry sorter.

From Quick Guide: Laundry Hints and Help
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 1/2-inch PVC pipe cut 18 inches long
  • 8 1/2-inch PVC pipe cut 3 feet long
  • 8 1/2-inch three-way "L" connectors
  • 4 1/2-inch slip "T" connectors
  • 3 laundry bags
  • PVC snap clamps
  1. Step 1

Make a rectangle with two 3-foot pipes and two 18-inch pipes. Use the three-way "L" connectors to connect the corners.

  2. Step 2

Insert four 3-foot pipes into the open connector slots.

  3. Step 3

Place the "L" connectors on the top. Insert two 3-foot pipes and two 18-inch pipes to make a rectangular cube.

  4. Step 4

Measure the long pipes on top and mark three equal sections. These sections need to be approximately 1 foot each.

  5. Step 5

Put the slip connectors over the marks on the pipes. Insert the remaining 18-inch pipes into the connectors.

  6. Step 6

Place the bags into each section. Wrap the top of the bag around the PVC pipe and use the snap clamps to hold them in place. The snap clamps are removable if you need to carry the bag to a laundromat.

  7. Step 7

Drop the laundry into the sorter. Place labels on each bag if it makes it easier for you.
