Instructions
  1. Step 1

Edit the video using Final Cut Pro as any other video. Render and save the project.

  2. Step 2

Highlight the desired sequence of the video. It is best to place the Timeline Playhead at the beginning of the sequence by clicking on the "Timeline" and then pressing the "Home" key.

  3. Step 3

Select "Export Using Compressor" from under the "File" option.

  4. Step 4

Click the drop down list indicator under "Setting." For web streaming, the two basic options are "Web Streaming (QuickTime 6 Compatible)" and "Web Streaming (QuickTime 7 Compatible)," while the two options for downloads are "Web Download (QuickTime 6 Compatible)" and "Web Download (QuickTime 7 Compatible)." In both cases QuickTime 6 Compatible files are MPEG-1 and MEPG-4 files while QuickTime 7 refers to H.264 options.

  5. Step 5

Choose the best basic option (web streaming or web download) with the compatibility desired.

  6. Step 6

Using the choices in the sub-pane, click on the file choice desired. If unsure, click "All" to create versions of each option.

  7. Step 7

Select a final destination for the files using the drop down list under "Destination" column. If unsure, send files to the desktop.
