Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Ask your general practitioner, friends and family for recommendations. This is the quickest way to find a doctor with a good bed side manner.
Step2
Contact your insurance provider. Ask for a list of urologists that are approved by your insurance. Ask about the policy for seeing doctors not on the preferred provider list.
Step3
Check the list for the names of recommended doctors. Make the decision to be willing to pay extra to see a doctor that has been recommended but is not on the list.
Step4
Contact the urologist's offices. Ask to set up a free consultation appointment. Tell the receptionist why you are trying to find a urologist.
Step5
Attend your consultation and fill out all necessary paper work. Talk with the doctor about the kinds of patients she treats. Find out when the urologist has treated a patient with the same condition.
Step6
Go to a couple consultations so you can get an idea of what is out there. When you find a doctor you like, stop searching and schedule a regular office visit.
