How to See a Football Game

Football may be the best sport to see live in person. The experience can be even better if you are in a special stadium or at a special school.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Get good seats. You can buy tickets at the box office, online, through an auction site or from a weird guy walking around outside the stadium who has two signs, one that says I need tickets and the other that says tickets for sale. No matter where you get them from make sure they are good seats. They do not have to be front row at the fifty yard line, but when you go see a football game do not want to spend three hours sitting behind a pole.
Step2
Arrive early. There is a lot to do before the game starts when you see a football game. Many places will have tailgating going on in the parking lot. You can also watch the players warm up. Some of the game preparation can be boring, but you can also watch guys try to kick 65-yard field goals or throw 70-yard passes.
Step3
Pick a side. If you do not have a rooting interest for either team in the game, pick one. Just watching a game is fun. Cheering for a team can make the game memorable. Sure, maybe they end up losing, but you are more likely to remember the result and how it happened if you pick a side when you see a football game.
Step4
Get rowdy. Make noise. Yell at the players. Yell at the mascot. Yell at the cheerleaders. Just do not be profane.
Step5
Have a beverage and a dog. Food and drinks can be fun to consume at home. Consuming them while you see a football game is even more enjoyable. Sure a beer or soda may cost four dollars or more and the hotdog will be another four bucks, but it will be worth it.
Step6
Be the last to leave. Watch the fans file out. Watch the players mill around. Get down along the sideline and be one of the fans yelling in the background as a television reporter interviews the star player from the game. By staying late, you may have the time you went to see a football game on a permanent video record. If you leave right away you will just end up sitting in a traffic jam anyway.
